We will occasionally breed a litter of puppies but not until a great deal of planning and homework has been done. We breed to preserve the integrity of the breed aiming to produce the best Pembroke Welsh Corgis we can. The Sire and Dam are chosen to compliment one another both genetypically and phenotypically so that we hope to reduce undesirable traits and improve on the essential breed type.We also understand that not every puppy is destined for the show ring and that many puppy owners have no desire for a show or performance puppy, but just prefer the joy of owning a companion puppy to join their family. With that in mind we consider the health and temperament of the puppy to be of utmost importance in our breeding program.
Sire and Dam must be of show quality and must be health tested before being considered for a breeding. We test our corgis for hip dysplasia, (OFFA - Orthopedic Foundation For Animals) and eye abnormalities (CERF) as is the required ethics of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America (PWCCA) and the results are posted on the respective websites. We also DNA test for Von Willebrands Disease (a blood disorder).
Some general statements about obtaining a Bramanor puppy -
- puppies are sold to pre-qualified homes
- puppies must be AKC registered
(a deposit will be required before the puppy is released)
- all puppies are sold with AKC Limited Registration
- all puppies have a health guarantee
- all puppies are sold vet checked and microchipped
All of our puppies are raised in our home, it is hard when our puppies leave us, but we hope that a Bramanor Corgi will give you as much joy and happiness in your home as they do in ours.
